Camping & Forest Service Cabins (Click on the link and please scroll down to see Sitka vicinty cabins which lists on and off island cabins in Sitka). Sitka also has several camping areas located on and off the island.
Starrigavan Recreation Area, a multi-recreational complex offering camping, picnicking, hiking, bird and wildlife viewing opportunities, with freshwater and saltwater fishing nearby. Located 7 miles north of downtown at the end of Halibut Point Road, 3/4 mile from the Alaska Marine Highway Sitka Ferry Terminal. ADA accessible, open year round (vehicle access restrictions September 16-April 30). Click here for fees charged, other amenities and additional information from U.S. Forest Service.
Sawmill Creek Campground, located 16 miles southeast of the ferry terminal. Sawmill Creek Campground is a primitive, older campground built in the 1960's, open when access road, Blue Lake Road, conditions permit. 11 Un level campsites suited to tents only. No camping fee, limited amenities. The gate accessing the campground road is closed (approximately mid November/December to May 1). Blue Lake Road is unable to safely accommodate RV's, motor homes, travel trailers at any time. Sealing Cove RV Parking operated by the City and Borough of Sitka is adjacent to Sealing Cove Boat Harbor, 7 miles south of the ferry terminal, and a short distance from downtown Sitka. Space available for 26 RV's. Water and electrical hook-ups. $21.00 Per night. Open May 1 to October 1. For information, contact the Sitka Harbor Master, (907) 747-3439.

Sitka Sportsman's Association RV Park & Camping Site , adjacent to the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry terminal at 5211 Halibut Point Road, located approximately 7 miles from downtown. Space for 16 RV's and tent sites available as well. Water and electrical hookups, showers and restrooms. Open year round. For fees and reservations please call (907) 747-4712. Tom Young Memorial Cabin located about 20 miles South of Sitka operated by the City and Borough of Sitka is available for public use. It is accessible year round by boat. Reservations can be made in person at the City and Borough of Sitka's Public Works Office (Mon.-Fri. 8am-4pm), 100 Lincoln Street, Room 201, Sitka, Alaska.
